Stay in love if only for the fight
Staying in love, knowing it isn’t right
Staying in love, regardless of the pain
Staying in love, what will I gain?
One broken heart right after another,
A “used to be” sole-mate, now only a lover,
A friendship demolished, or damaged at the least
Dreams of happily ever after are now deceased.
It’s time to let go and get on with life,
time to grit my teeth and pull out the knife.
The pain is so sharp as the room starts to spin
How could I possibly start over again?
Staying in love, it just wasn’t meant to be,
I’m strong enough to know it wasn’t right for me.
